How to crop an image

Which shape to choose
- Square (1:1): profile pictures, product photos, many social media posts.
- 4:3 and 3:2: standard photo prints and most camera photos.
- 16:9: video thumbnails, presentations, desktop wallpapers and website banners.
- 9:16: stories, reels and phone wallpapers.
The thin grid lines divide the box into thirds; placing your subject on a line or intersection often looks more natural.
After cropping
The cropped image keeps its format and full resolution inside the crop area. To make it a particular pixel size, for example 1080 × 1080, use the Image Resizer next.

Type the left, top, width and height in pixels. With a shape such as Square selected, changing the width updates the height to match.

Does cropping reduce quality?
No detail is lost inside the area you keep. JPG images are re-saved at high quality (95%), which is not visibly different.
